Refund Policy

Effective date: August 9, 2026

OpenFCC is a digital product delivered instantly. This Refund Policy explains that, apart from rights you cannot waive under the mandatory law of your country, all purchases are final. By completing a purchase you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this policy.

1. All Sales Are Final

Because OpenFCC is delivered digitally and instantly, all sales are final. Once a license key has been issued to you, the purchase is considered fulfilled and is not eligible for a refund, except where a refund is required by the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence (see Section 5).

2. Test With the Free Trial Before You Buy

Every user can run a 3-hour free trial that activates both FCC and 4G on their own controller and aircraft, at no cost and before paying anything. The trial exists precisely so that you can confirm the product works on your exact setup before you purchase.

Because a full free trial is available before purchase, any problem you could have identified during the trial is not grounds for a refund after purchase. Please also review our Compatibility page and confirm your model is supported before buying.

3. EU Consumers, Waiver of the Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases. However, for digital content supplied without a tangible medium, this right is lost once performance has begun with your prior express consent.

By completing your purchase and accessing the digital download or license key, you expressly consent to immediate performance of the contract and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your 14-day right of withdrawal, in accordance with Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU) as implemented in your country of residence. No refund is available once the download link or license key has been accessed.

4. Situations That Are Not Eligible for a Refund

The following do not indicate a defect in our software and are not, by themselves, grounds for a refund:

  • 4G or cellular not working. 4G depends on the DJI cellular dongle, its SIM and data plan, mobile-network coverage, your aircraft firmware, and local regulations. If any of these is missing or misconfigured, 4G will not connect regardless of OpenFCC. As long as FCC region switching activates, the product has performed as described.
  • Your device, environment, or region. Any issue caused by your specific controller, aircraft, firmware, network, SIM, physical location, or local regulatory restrictions.
  • Compatibility not verified before purchase, or any issue that could have been identified using the free trial.
  • Change of mind after a license key has been issued.

5. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country of residence. Card purchases are sold and processed by Gumroad, Inc., acting as merchant of record for the transaction; where a refund is legally required for a card purchase, it is issued through Gumroad.
